Horrid Henry extravaganza!

Year 3 love Horrid Henry. We have been looking at the stories, the style, the characters and the adventures they have!
We decided to have a Horrid Henry day.... and look who turned up!

The dreaded Miss. Battle-Axe tried to look very important

And when you put them together... they are even worse!

We had a truly HORRID day... although we loved it really!

Perfect Peter arrives in 3.1....really.

Perfect Peter arrived to answer questions about his life, and why he is so very perfect.

'Why are you so perfect'

'Do you really like vegetables?'

'Is your bedroom tidy?'

 Many questions were asked and answered.

We certainly know Peter better than we did.
Thanks for visiting us Peter!

Year 3 and 4 unite!

On Friday 7th June, Years 3 and 4 joined forces in order to have a grounds afternoon. The staff were joined by brave and fearless parents and other family members who embarked on the various jobs in hand.
There was plant pot cleaning and painting.

A bee garden was dug and planted;

Names were made from everyday items;

Murals have been drawn and are ready to paint;

Birds nests were made using the 'beak-only technique';

We also enjoyed a bug hunt.

It was a great afternoon and apart from enjoying ourselves, the grounds look even more fantastic!
Thank you for all the hard work.

Local area walk.

The sun was shining so we decided to make the most of it.
We went into the heart of St. Thomas to find out how it has changed over the years.

A lovely housing estate is where the old county ground and speedway track used to be;

Cowick Street Motors is where the local prison used to be for those who owed money;

Age UK is on the site of the old fire station and council offices. Their names being carved on the front, is a give- away to all eagle-eyed historians;

It's hard to believe that Tesco used to be a garage!

We returned to enjoy a biscuit on our very own Bowhill octagon, which has previously been a running track in John Stocker days.

How will our local area change in the future?
What changes can you remember happening?
Imagine St. Thomas in 30 years time?

Wow, we are very much part of history.....so lets make it something to be proud of!

Class sculpture in 3.1!

Out of nothing ....a sculpture was created....
Out of sculpture.... a story was composed!
Enough poetry...now to our creations....
What is it?
'A cat', some thought.
'A hand', others thought,
'An immersion heater' thought Mrs. Draper (!!!!!!)

We also sculpted another amazing creation...can you tell what it is?

What will we create next?
Keep on sculpting!
