Alert.. Roman soldier in year 3!

Yes, a Roman soldier came to visit year 3 today.

He brought lots of artefacts for us to look at, touch  and try on.

We even became Romans for a time and looked very attractive... don't you think?

In the afternoon we were given our marching orders .... Literally!

I'm not sure if the life of a Roman soldier is for us after all.... too much like hard work! Take us back to Bowhill 2012!

Friday Feast Spectacular!

The first Friday Feast has been held in the new Bowhill canteen today.

Everychild contributed by bringing in fantastic, delicous cakes and biscuits.

There were parents who helped set-up, and then sold the cakes to the hungry children and adults.

 What a Team!

The cakes sold ....like hot cakes!
It was lovely to see so many of the Bowhill community working together.

We Raised a staggering....

     record breaking....

        unbelievable.....

                                       £238.87!

Well done....and thank you!

We will use the money to pay for a visiting Roman soldier on Thursday 23rd November 2012.
And we will let you know what we will use the rest of the money for!

3.1 visit the Colloseum!

3.1 have been looking at how the Romans enjoyed their free time. We looked at the Colloseum in Rome and re-created it in our very own Bowhill octagon. We had guests, emporers, slaves, gladiators and lions in the arena. There were cheers and shouting as Gladiator Draper faced the lion....What would happen, who would win, who would be the victor? We asked the lion questions about his day at the Colloseum before we wrote about the lion's day.
Our writing was fantastic as a result of our colloseum experience.
By the way. the lion won... and I haven't seen Gladiator Draper for a while!
